Charge cards such as Diners, JCB and AMEX operate in a similar fashion to the standard credit cards. Typically a business will contract directly with the charge card scheme and processing can be completed directly or possibly via the financial institution that is processing your standard cards.

Currency conversion is not as common with charge cards.
